Since 1 January 2014, it’s been mandatory for every Gaelic footballer to wear a mouthguard in all games and training sessions – from underage right up to adult. 

✅ A properly fitted mouthguard is the best way to cut down on dental injuries.
 ✅ The GAA Injury Benefit Fund won’t cover you if you’re not wearing one.
✅ Referees can send players off for non-compliance.
✅ The stats don’t lie: dental injury claims dropped by almost 40% after the rule came in.
